Leadership in Action

Leadership is about action above words. For legislators, it is about introducing, moving, and passing bills.

Simply being in the room is not enough. I am running for state representative because we need someone who will move bills forward and create laws on the issues that matter most to us. It was my great honor to do that from 2014-2018, and again from 2020-2022, when you sent me to the statehouse to represent you.

Most of my bill ideas come from people in our district who have offered great solutions to real, and many times, personal struggles. We figure it out and work together to see what we can done either with state agencies or through legislation.

I have crafted policy and collaborated with other legislators to protect the most vulnerable members of our society--from infants and foster kids to sexual assault victims. I authored and helped shepherd a total of 99 bills into public law over my 6-year tenure. Among them were initiatives to bring more money to the classroom and money for the South Shore Expansion Projects.

That work was born of many conversations with you and my own passion
to lift up our community and our entire state. You can rely on me to listen
to you thoughtfully, work hard to represent you in Indianapolis, and
come home with tangible results.
